NASA Pay Bill 991444 raises Kshs 20 Million ONLY
There have been unbelievable claims that NASA pay bill 991444 had raised over Kshs 1.1 Billion by Monday this week, which would have hardly been four days after NASA put up the pay bill number. However, NASA Principal and head of campaign team Musalia Mudavadi has set the records straight, that NASA Pay Bill has so far raised Kshs 20 million only.
In a statement published in the official NASA Coalition Facebook Page, Musalia Mudavadi expressed his gratitude to the million of Kenyans who have raised the Kshs 20 million, stating that majority of the contributors are “those who gave as little as Kshs 5, Kshs 10 and Kshs 20”. He expressed his utmost gratitude to them as “they are the heart of the movement”. He also added that those who contribute less are just as important as those who contribute millions.
Assuming therefore that on average contributors sent Kshs 50, we can calculate that some 400,000 Kenyans have made their contribution to the NASA Pay Bill number, a very low figure given that NASA boasts of having 10 Million Strong supporters, and that no less than 6.8 million people voted for NASA’s Presidential Candidate in the August 8th Elections.
As much as Musalia Mudavadi has acknowledged that the Kshs 20 million the coalition has received is more than they hoped for, he has gone ahead to say that the Coalition has not yet achieved its target. “We are not there yet. The campaign we have embarked on is going to be long and demanding. We are up against an opponent that has unfettered access to State resources and big businesses that thrive on the Jubilee corruption and impunity”, he wrote.
NASA Coalition has also unveiled a platform through which contributors can meet and discuss issues of standing with the mothers and fathers in NASA Coalition. “In the interest of transparency and accountability, we have set up a dashboard where you can further interact with fellow supporters and donors”, the statement explained.
The NASA Pay Bill is still being promoted as a way to buy one’s ticket to Canaan. “If you have not bought your ticket to Canaan, you can still do so by sending your donation to MPESA Pay Bill 991444 using your name or ID numbers as the account number. You may also wish to make your donation via Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Parliament Road Branch ODM Presidential Account. Account Number 01120006511102.”
NASA is also asking supporters who have bought their tickets to buy for the loved ones too, “If you have bought your ticket, buy one for the loved one or friend you must bring with you in Canaan”.
