Gabiro Mtu Necessary is now the most streamed musician in the region after hitting 2 million streams on Boomplay

Kisumu-based Recording Academy, voting member and award-winning musician, Gabiro Mtu Necessary is now the most streamed musician in the region.

He boasts not only a vast number of streams on Boomplay but also a wide range of catalogues with over 30 songs under his belt. His debut album which was released on April 29, 2022, is almost getting to the 500,000 streams mark and over 1 million streams across all platforms.

Mtu Necessary is setting records and standards among his peers and killing the notion and long-been barrier of locality and quality.

Taking his excitement to social media he wrote: “2022 and I’m still the most streamed musician in Kisumu ~ on God and my real fans”

In another tweet, he wrote; “Thank you for over 2 MILLION streams on @BoomplayMusicKE One day this will be 200 MILLION ️”

His ability and diversity have seen him transit from not only being a rapper but also being the best lyricist from the Western Region. He portrays himself as the best export from Kenya’s lakeside town, Kisumu city.

Gabiro recently got admitted into the Grammy’s Recording Academy as a voting member, he is now able to vote for musicians, songwriters and composers in the coveted awards. Notably, he also got considered for a nomination at the 64^th Grammy Awards making him the first Kisumu-based musician to get such recognition.

He is steadily building a reputation as Kisumu’s best lyricist but also shares his personal struggles through his art. From working as a matatu tout to battling drug abuse, Gabiro’s ability to tell stories separates him from rap music’s status quo.

With over 2 million streams on his Boomplay, Gabiro is now the top most-streamed musician not only on Boomplay but also across all digital platforms.

The self-proclaimed Kisumu President recently launched his own recording studio under the imprint Jodifa Enterprises and is planning to bring up a set of new artists that will work closely with his studio independently as a way of giving back to his loyal fan base and following.

He is now not only the most streamed musician from the lake region but also the most followed entertainment personality.
